Aims/Objectives
1. To promote the Principalship as a position of responsibility.
2. To promote the improvement and development of secondary
education.
3. To develop opportunities for the sharing and growth of
the skills of Principals.
4. To improve the welfare of its members and protect their
interests.
5. To ensure that the collective views and opinions of Principals
are heard nationally on items of professional and educational
interest.
6. To conduct meetings and conferences for the exchange
of ideas among Principals and other appropriate persons.
7. To encourage cooperation and fellowship among members.
8. To liaise with Principals of non-government secondary
schools, primary or elementary schools, and post-secondary
institutions.
9. To seek recognition as an important consultative group
by the Commonwealth Minister for Education and his/her agencies.
10. To seek representation on appropriate bodies which impact
on Australian secondary education.
11. To collaborate with other organisations with similar
types of aims and objectives.
12. To be proactive and reactive to changing educational
philosophies and processes.
13. To disseminate information and opinion on educational
issues to the Australian public, members of the profession,
politicians and senior bureaucrats.
